What is a skid steer excavator?Skid steer excavators (also called mini excavators or compact excavators) belong to the compact line of construction equipment. Skid steer excavators consist of an undercarriage, a structure with cabine, engine and hydraulic components and the work tool with boom, arm and attachment. Mini excavators can be equipped with steel tracks, rubber tracks or wheels. In most cases they have an hydraulic rear blade to stabilize, grade or level the surface. The most common attachments are the digging bucket, grabbles, hydraulic breaker or hammer etc. Within the family of skid steer excavators you distiguish between: micro excavators (aprox.one ton weight), mini excavators (up to 7 tons) and midi excavators (from 7 to 12 tons)
