Terex Aerial Work Platforms has sold its Terex power buggy product line to Indy Equipment, an equipment dealer in Independence, OH.
The amount paid for the line was undisclosed. The power buggy line consisted of two models, a 16-foot and 21-foot unit. The machines featured simultaneous dump and hydrostatic capability for feathering loads in forward and reverse.
Also, Terex AWP has sold its generator product line to Cummins Power Generation, stating the moves are part of an overall strategic plan to focus on its core aerial equipment business.
"We made the decision to close the Terex power buggy line in September 2009 as a part of a larger strategy to focus on our core aerial competences," said Brad Allen, global general manager, scissors, portables and light towers, Terex AWP. "Indy Equipment is a respected dealer in the industry and is the right fit to sell and market the power buggy product line."
Terex also has sold its generator product line to Cummins for an undisclosed amount. "At this point in time, it makes sense for Terex AWP to focus on our core products such as Genie aerial lifts, telehandlers and light towers," Allen stated. "The Terex line of generators offers Cummins an opportunity to vertically integrate and manufacture the same high-quality generators Terex has been private labeling for them during the past several years."
